Meme and More

CPAMom sent me some interview meme questions like a month ago, so you can see how timely I am, here are the answers. And some other tidbits from life at Casa OLV...

Meme Questions:

1) Do you play any instruments? If not, what do you wish you played? Why?

No, I don’t play an instrument. I always wanted to play piano, but never did. I have short fingers anyway, I don’t think I would have been very good. I did try guitar for about 5 seconds, but I sucked. I am not a creative person really. Hence the whole left brain accountant thing I guess.

2) What is your favorite food? sport? movie star?

Favorite food – pizza, Mexican food, Chinese food….can I just say ‘most food’?? Favorite sport is easy…college football – GO GATORS! Favorite movie star…another hard one. I don’t think I have a favorite really – I like a lot of them…actors…George Clooney, the Wilson brothers, Vince Vaughn, Matt Damon, Ben Stiller, the list goes on…actresses…Julia Roberts, Renee Zellweger, Meryl Streep, and on and on…

3) Who would you most like to meet (or wish you had met - can be a living or dead celebrity, famous person)?

Wow, that’s a really hard one. I'll go with the Pope John Paul. (My grandma would be so proud.)

4) How many tattoos and/or piercings do you have? Do you wish you had?

No tattoos, only had pierced ears but they are now closed since I stopped wearing earrings. I’m good with what I have (or don’t have I should say!) I am not letting a needle anywhere near me unless its absolutely necessary.

5) What was the last book you read?

Slipping into Darkness by Peter Blauner….pretty good mystery.

6) Who has had the most influence on your life?

Wow, that’s hard too – damn! I’d say my parents. Not always in a good way (but mostly), but definitely the most influential. I would also so my grandfather, who passed away about 5 years ago. He was the lone CPA in the family.

7) Coke or Pepsi? Dogs or Cats?

Definitely Coke. HATE Pepsi. And definitely dogs – I am not a cat person (slightly allergic – hubby is VERY allergic.)

Now for the miscellaneous tidbits...

My daughter has recently started to come up to us out the blue just to say ‘I love you.’ Last night, she ran up to me while I was on the couch and said ‘Mommy! I love you for TEN MILES!!” So cute. I’m doomed.

Our kitchen cabinets are supposed to be delivered next week some time. Hubby needs to take out the old cabinets and we have to paint (I think I've decided on a light sage green.) After all that is done, the cabinets are installed and they do the template for the countertops. We wait another couple of weeks, with no sink or faucet, until the countertop goes in. I am hoping to have a new kitchen by the middle of June. I just want it done already. As soon as I can find my damn USB cord, I will post some before picks so you can see the ugly.

My mother leaves today on a trip to Turkey...with this organization. She emailed my brother and I out of the blue last week to let us know. She'll be gone for three weeks. She spends five days with a host family, and tours the country for the remaining time. I am VERY interested to know how she does staying at someone's house for five days. People that she does not know. Somehow, I think its brave and stupid at the same time.

Can't wait to see before and after pics of your kitchen. It sounds like it will be beautiful! :)

Your mom is definitely braver than I am. That's something I would never even consider. I hope she enjoys it. Maybe you'll get something really cool from Turkey to put in your new kitchen?

Your mom sounds brave. I'm sure the organization checks out their host families but I think I'll stick with hotels.

I can't wait for the I Love Yous. Tigger did it one time spontaneously a few weeks ago. Melted me into a puddle.
